Threshold increase ahead for tourism and hospitality pay rates

Many of you will know that some roles in the Tourism and Hospitality sector are currently exempt from meeting the median wage – and that the existing wage threshold for an Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) is $25/h.

Immigration New Zealand has now confirmed that from 24 April 2023 any new AEWV applications being submitted must meet the new wage threshold of at least $28.18.

Visas will be granted with a validity of up to 2 years for roles that meet this wage threshold. For anyone that meets the median wage requirement, visas may be granted for up to 3 years.

Lodge your staff visas now before wage thresholds increase!

We encourage you to lodge AEWVs before 24 April 2023, in order to take advantage of the current remuneration rates.

Our team can assist with any urgent lodgements or advice.
